About The JAM The Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) conduct the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) for admission to Integrated Ph.D Degree Programmes at IISc Bangalore and M.Sc (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D Dual Degree, M.Sc - M.Tech., M.Sc -M.S. (Research)/PhD Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at IITs The main objective of JAM is to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students across the country It is expected that the research infrastructure, the inter-disciplinary interaction and the vibrant academic environment of IISc Bangalore and IITs will motivate these students to pursue R&D careers in frontier areas of basic sciences as well as inter-disciplinary areas of science and technology JAM 2015 qualified students will also have to appear for an interview for admission to the following programs: i) Integrated Ph.D Degree at IISc Bangalore ii) M.Sc (Two Years), Joint M.Sc -Ph.D, M.Sc - Ph.D Dual Degree, M.Sc - M.Tech., M.Sc -M.S. (Research)/PhD Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at IITs IIT JAM 2015 will be administered by IIT Guwahati. On the basis of performance in IIT JAM 2015, candidates shall be admitted to postgraduate programs of the following IITs:

JAM 2015 Important Dates
Exam Pattern
JAM 2015 has seven test papers out of which a candidate can appear for either one or a maximum of two test papers
There is an additional fee for taking the second test paper Candidates planning to take two test papers must ensure that the tests' dates don't clash PAPERS IN JAM 2015

3) Chemistry (CY),

Each of these papers would be of three hours duration For all the papers, JAM 2015 examination will be conducted in ONLINE mode ONLY A candidate can appear in either one or two test papers subject to the restrictions of test schedule given below and by paying an additional fee for the second test paper
WHAT IS NEW?
IIT Guwahati is the Organizing Institute for JAM 2015 JAM 2015 Examination will be conducted ONLINE only as a Computer Based Test (CBT) for all Test Papers All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2015 will be of fully objective type, with three different patterns of questions as follows:
i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): Each MCQ type question has four choices out of which only one choice is the correct answer
ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ): Each MSQ type question is similar to MCQ but with a difference that there may be one or more than one choice(s) that are correct out of the four given choices
iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions: For each NAT type question, the answer is a signed real number which needs to be entered using the virtual keypad on the monitor.
No choices will be shown for these types of questions All candidates have to apply only ONLINE No hardcopies of documents (except challan) are to be sent to the Organizing Institute.

A candidate can register and apply ONLINE only for JAM 2015 from 03rd September 2014 to 09th October 2014
The application fee can be paid either online or through challan via State Bank of India Additional bank charges may apply for the above transactions In case a candidate chooses to pay through challan, then the challan payment should be made in cash at any SBI branch latest by 30th September 2014 (Tuesday)
The application fee is non refundable The candidates are advised to visit the JAM 2015 website regularly for any updates
If you pay the fee through challan, then you should take its print out to any branch of SBI for fee payment

Eligibility Requirements for Admission
For IISc Bangalore: First class (as declared by the university) for Un‐Reserved/OBC category candidates and second class (as declared by the University) or 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, for SC/ST and PwD category candidates in the qualifying degree
For IIT Guwahati: At least (a) 55% marks or 6.0 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, in Major /Honors and Pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries or (b) 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined, for Un‐Reserved/OBC(NCL) Category Candidates; and at least (a) 50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, in Major/Honors and pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, or (b) 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined, for SC/ST and PwD Category Candidates, in the qualifying degree
For all other IITs: At least 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for Un‐Reserved/OBC Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ST and PwD Category candidates in the qualifying degree For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks) the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute(s)
Note: Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30th Sept 2015 Reservation Policy is as per Government of India norms
JOINT ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admission to the above mentioned academic programmes in IISc Bangalore and IITs for the academic session 2015‐16 will be made on the basis of all India merit list of JAM 2015 For some of the programmes at IISc, IITB, IITK and IITM, the short listed candidates will additionally have to appear for an interview Candidates who qualify in any test paper of JAM 2015 shall be eligible to apply for admission to all the academic programmes corresponding to that test paper, provided they also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and the eligibility requirements, as specified by the Institute(s) in which the admission is sought After the declaration of JAM 2015 results, qualified candidates shall be required to apply to the Organizing Institute (IIT Guwahati) specifying their preferences for the programmes for which the admission is sought Candidates should note that being in the merit list of any test paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission Further details regarding admissions, prescribed fees, etc., shall be available on the JAM 2015 website.
